Three cows to accompany Yesudeva Reddy during the walk Nalgonda district resident Yesudeva Reddy will launch his marathon walk from Balaji temple at Chilkur today

HYDERABAD: Solipuram Yesudeva Reddy, a resident of Nalgonda district who trekked his way to Tirupati last year, is planning to repeat the feat this year. He will start his marathon walk from Balaji temple at Chilkur on Friday.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. Reddy said the objective behind the journey was to pray for the welfare of Andhra Pradesh and its people to prevent bifurcation of Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. Mr. Reddy, this time, will have three persons — N. Jagadishwara Chary of Saroornagar, C. Rama Murthy from Varthamanukota in Nalgonda and M. Krishna Reddy of Kadapa — accompanying him along with cows donated by people to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams' Goshala.

More cows

"As of now, three cows have been donated. We are expecting at least 108 cows to be donated during our journey," Mr. Reddy said.

Last year, Mr. Reddy had completed the journey in 22 days after setting out on March 6. However, this time he expects his journey of 1,237 km to take at least 60 days since the cows have to be taken care of.
