Letters to the Editor
Dr. T.J. Cherian, the cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon who passed away in Chennai on March 6, was an institution by himself. He had vast knowledge and was constantly updating himself on the latest techniques. His death is a great loss.
Krishnaswami K.R.,
I had the privilege of working under Dr. Cherian at the Railway Hospital, Perambur, between 1972 and 1976. I was in charge of maintaining electrical equipment. A wonderful doctor and a perfect human being, he even examined patients in the corridors when needed. He was so keen on bringing the Railway Hospital to the top that he made frequent inspections of all areas, even the toilets.
D.V. Narayana,
