Pondicherry
Special Correspondent
Pondicherry: General secretary of the Puduchery Munnetra Congress (PMC) P.K. Devadoss has urged the administration to initiate steps to relieve residents of Rangapillai Street and its neighbouring areas of the menace of street dogs. In a release here on Tuesday, Mr. Devadoss demanded replacement of age old distributing lines of drinking water to houses and other premises on Rangapillai street as the pipelines were laid some 30 years ago. He also wanted steps to lift the garbage and solid waste that had been piling up in the area. Before laying cement and concrete roads, care should be taken that no damage was caused to underground cables. Should there be delay in initiating steps to address these issues an agitation would be launched in cooperation with local residents to seek early redress of the grievances of the residents, he said.
