PONDICHERRY: Vaithikuppam Sri Patchaivazhiamman Koil village panchayat has urged the administration to declare March 14 a public holiday in view of the celebration of the Masi Magam festival. The president of the panchayat R. Subramanian said in a release here on Tuesday that Masi Magam festival was one of the important occasions. This would be the 104th annual festival of the Magam, which would attract a large number of devotees on the seashore in Vaithikuppam where deities installed from morning to evening for "theerthavari" and to enable the devotees to offer worship.
