CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Telangana and dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and Kerala.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cms are:

Palayamkottai (Tirunelveli dt.), Minicoy, B.Bagevadi (Bagalkot dt.) and Afzalpur (Gulburga dt.) 1 each.

Cuddapah recorded the highest maximum temperature of 38 degree Celsius in the region.

They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, appreciably above normal at a few places over Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over north Kerala, above normal at one or two places over Andhra Pradesh, rest Tamil Nadu and were generally normal over rest of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesh.
