File not referred to Council: Lavrov

MOSCOW: Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denied the U.N. nuclear watchdog had referred Iran's nuclear dossier to the U.N. Security Council.

"There has been no decision to send the file [to the Security Council]," he said after talks with U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan in New York. He explained that the IAEA had decided to "inform" the Security Council about the report of IAEA chief Mohamed El-Baradei and the debate at an IAEA Board meeting earlier this week.
