BJP, Sena disrupt Lok Sabha proceedings

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena members disrupted proceedings in the Lok Sabha on Thursday over the alleged denigration of Hindu deities in a publication brought out by a Rajasthan-based Christian organisation.

Raising the issue, Srichand Kriplani said Hindu deities were shown in a poor light in Hakeekat brought out by the Emmanuel Mission. He demanded a ban on the book and action against the author..

As the treasury benches joined issue with them, condemning the attacks on Christian institutions in the State, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourned the House for two hours.
