Biotech firm inks pact with IICT

HYDERABAD
: Saamya Biotech (India) Limited (SBIL) entered into an agreement with the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) on the institute premises in the city recently.
Y. Manivardhan Reddy, Managing Director of SBIL and J.S. Yadav, Director of IICT, exchanged the agreement documents. Under the agreement, IICT will provide all the facilities required for the indigenisation of the technology being provided by the Italian collaborator of SBIL, Biofin Laboratories, for the manufacture of selected bio pharmaceuticals involving microbial fermentations. In consideration of providing the facilities for absorption and adoption of technology transferred from overseas, the IICT will receive a stipulated amount as a fee from SBIL.
