dated March 11, 1956: Dulles explains

The US Secretary of State, Mr. John Foster Dulles, told a press conference in New Delhi on March 10 that the US had taken no stand on merits of the Goa and Kashmir controversies. All that the US wanted on both these issues was that they should be settled peacefully. If Pakistan used the arms given by America for aggression against India, "it will lead to quick ending of its good relations with United States," Mr. Dulles said, adding, "On the contrary, the US would be supporting India if it became the victim of armed aggression."
