Letters to the Editor
This refers to the editorial, `Australia's uranium dilemma' (March 9). The economic and political realities of today are different from those at the time the NPT was framed. Today, India is a developing economy with a large population and to meet its power needs it is better to have nuclear power, to avoid the greenhouse effect. Australian Premier John Howard should do his best to ensure uranium supply, which will ultimately benefit both India and the world.
