T.N. Padmanabhan passes away

CHENNAI: T.N. Padmanabhan, 81, former Managing Director of Sundaram Finance, died on Friday morning. He was ailing for some months.

A post-graduate with a qualification in law, Mr. Padmanabhan joined the Indian Revenue Service. Moving to the private sector general insurance before its nationalisation, he became the Custodian of United India Fire and General Insurance after government takeover.

He joined Sundaram Finance in 1975 and served as its Managing Director for 12 years from 1977. He was associated with many companies in the TVS Group. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
