CHENNAI: Sibiraj was born with a silver spoon. Son of veteran actor Sathyaraj, the youngster has acted in five films, a majority of them with his father. Sibi, in an interesting chat, talks about his track record and his future projects. I am hardworking, self-confident, friendly, and humorous. But, I am quiet around strangers. The break into cinema happened when I was studying in Loyola College. One day, director Selva came to me and narrated the story of Student No.1. He said he wanted me to play the lead character. My father and I liked the script. After seeing the first print, my father told me that I had done a good job. That was the first time he appreciated me on my acting prowess. Now, the latest release, Kovai Brothers, has received good reviews. For me, this is a tonic. My second movie was Jore. Then came Manin Mainthan, in which my acting was appreciated by M. Karunanidhi, DMK chief. In Vettrivel Sakthivel, I proved that I can also carry off comedy roles with Vadivel. Kovai Brothers has taken me another step forward in my career. Usually, I listen to the story and if I like it I get my father's opinion on it. If he too likes it, then we sit with the director to discuss how to proceed further. This is the code I have followed till the latest movie. I think the story is the hero. I do what the screenplay demands and the director knows that. I am not really concerned about whom I act with. One can take, for instance, Arinthum Ariyamalum, Ullam Ketkume More and the yet-to-be released film Pattiyal. These films have two heroes and have proved to be good in their own way. I am happy to act in films with two or more heroes. In my to be released movie Pattasu, I am acting with Vikranth, and in Mamu my father is playing a guest role.
