New Chairman for Indian Rubber Institute

KOCHI: P. K. Mohamed has been elected Chairman of Indian Rubber Institute, a professional body of rubber technologists, engineers, scientists and other professionals working in the field of rubber and allied products. He is the chief of Research and Technology of Apollo Tyres Ltd.

The Indian Rubber Research Institute has got more than 3,000 members and seven branches. They are located in Kerala, Mysore, Mumbai, Delhi, Rajasthan, Chennai and Kolkata. The institute is affiliated to American Chemical Society, a scientific organisation in the U.S. They conduct examinations in rubber technology in collaboration with IIT, Kharagpur.
