Car festival held

CHENNAI: The car festival of the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple, Gandhi Nagar, Adyar, was held on Friday.

It was part of the 12-day annual Brahmotsavam of the temple, which began on March 3. oncerts by eminent musicians are being held in the evenings daily at the Sri Kanchi Mahaswami Anantha Mandapam adjacent to the temple. A recent acquisition of the temple is a majestic golden chariot. A.N. Srinivasa Rao, secretary of the Dharma Paripalana Sabha which administers the temple, said 3.5 kg of gold was used for the gold plating. The entire gold was donated by devotees.
