CHENNAI: Indian (formerly Indian Airlines) has bagged Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) award in the `Best Singapore Travel Experience-India' category. The award is a tribute to individuals and organisations for their outstanding contributions to enhancing Singapore's image as a premier tourist destination. A certificate and a customised trophy were presented at a function presided over by Singapore President S.R. Nathan. Indian won the award for its overseas school trips package from Chennai to Singapore in association with Timesworld Travels, Singapore. Malaysia Airlines has done remarkably well in International Air Transport Association's Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and joined the league of airlines in qualifying for this IATA accreditation under the world body's safety audit standards. Malaysia Airlines Managing Director Idris Jala received the IOSA Certificate from Andrew Drysdale, IATA's Regional Vice-President Asia Pacific, at the airline's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. The certification audit conducted by Aviation Compliance Solution (ACS), an International Air Transport Association (IATA) accredited Audit Organisation, covered the following functional and operational areas of Malaysia Airlines: Corporate Organisation & Management, Flight Operations, Operational Control & Flight Despatch Aircraft Engineering & Maintenance, Cabin Operations, Aircraft Ground Handling, Cargo Operations and Operational Security.
