Power cables fall on bus; passengers safe

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: High-tension wires snapped and fell on a KSRTC bus in Channapatna in Bangalore Rural district, on Thursday. Speaking to The Hindu, Raj Shetty, sub-inspector of Channapatna police station, said the high-tension wires snapped as coconut trees near the Kuruba Hostel on Bangalore-Mysore Road fell on them. "Owing to the rain and high velocity winds, the tress fell. There were no casualties and all the 50 passengers are safe. There was no power supply at that time," he said.
