TIRUCHI: An exclusive campus interview was organised for the wards of police personnel and ministerial staff serving in the Tiruchi and Thanjavur Ranges here on Saturday.

Engineering graduates from various disciplines as well as well those who had completed their diplomas attended the campus interview, which was conducted at the newly constructed District Police Office here.

The idea of organising an exclusive campus interview for the wards of policemen and ministerial staff was that of the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Tiruchi Range, C. Sylendra Babu, police sources here said.

SlashSupport, a technical support organisation based at Chennai, was the recruiter. As many as 38 engineering graduates and diploma holders, including 18 girls, were selected for the interview.

Prior to the interview the students underwent an aptitude test. Of them, two engineering graduates from computer science and information technology - Rajesh and Uma Maheswari - were selected for the post of Technical Support Engineer, the sources added.

The DIG Sylendra Babu said similar campus interviews for the wards of police personnel would be organised at regular intervals hereafter.

Mr. Sylendra Babu said there was also a plan to organise a training programme for the wards of police personnel who were interested in taking the civil service examination.
