dated March 13, 1956: T-C Ministry resigns

The Travancore-Cochin Congress Ministry, headed by Mr. Panampilli Govinda Menon, tendered its resignation to the Rajpramukh on March 11. The Rajpramukh asked the present Cabinet to continue in office till other arrangements are made. Mr. Govinda Menon's Ministry is the fifth in the State after the integration of Travancore and Cochin, which took place five years ago. Four of them were Congress Ministries and the other was formed by the PSP. The present Ministry assumed office on February 14 last replacing the PSP Government which fell following the withdrawal by the Congress of its "responsive co-operation."
