Vadodara: A rumour of a live bomb planted at the Vadodara railway station kept the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel on tenterhooks here on Sunday afternoon. As soon as the news spread around 2 p.m., police conducted a thorough search of the entire station premises, including passengers of two trains: 2471 Mumbai-Jammu Tawi Swaraj Express and 250 Ahmedabad-Valsad Passenger. The report ultimately turned out to be a hoax. Dismissing it off as a "total rumour," RPF commandant Ashok Roy said a bomb disposal squad and additional RPF and GRP forces were rushed to the station. The whole station was searched for nearly one hour with the help of sniffer dogs and metal detectors, but nothing was found. While the Railway control room denied that they had received any hoax call, senior RPF officers are investigating the source from where the rumour spread. UNI
