Rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at many places over Tamil Nadu and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep. Isolated rainfall occurred over Rayalaseema and south interior Karnataka and mainly dry weather prevailed over Telangana and dry weather prevailed over Kerala, coastal and north interior Karnataka. Rajapalayam and Sattur (both Virudhunagar dt) recorded heavy rainfall of 8 and 7 cm respectively.

Vellore recorded the highest maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius in the region.

They were largely to markedly below normal at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, appreciably below normal at one or two places over south coastal Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, below normal at a few places over rest Tamil Nadu, at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, Rayalaseema, above normal at one or two place over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and generally normal over the rest of the region. Gulbarga, Haveri and Belgaum airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 13 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Kerala, Lakshadweep, coastal and north interior Karnataka.
