PERAMBALUR : Four persons were killed in two road accidents on the outskirts of the town on Saturday. Three persons were killed on the spot when the car in which they were returning to Chennai from Theni, hit against a tree at Kalpadi in the early hours of Saturday. The police gave the names of the dead as Abraham (25) of Moolakadai, Mani alias Sudarsan (22) of Soolaimedu and Kannan (30) of Tiruttani. Three other occupants of the car who were injured in the accident were admitted to the hospital in Tiruchi. In another road accident, one S. Periyasamy (45), who fell from a lorry on the Thuraiyur - Perambalur highway, died on the spot. Police said the maize-laden lorry was taking a turn when the mishap occurred. The man was sitting on top of the maize bags, the police said.
