BANGALORE: Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and the 11 other Ministers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will have to straddle both administration and party cadre's expectations, and remain open to performance audit by the party, the former President of the BJP M. Venkaiah Naidu said on Sunday.

Addressing presspersons here along with the new "Prabhari" in-charge of Karnataka, Thawar Chand Gehlot, the former BJP President said they have been told to keep in mind the fact that formation of a coalition Government with the Janata Dal (Secular) is both an opportunity and a challenge.

He said the Saturday's session with the Ministers came out with a five-point agenda. They are "samparka," "samvada," "samanvaya," "sahayoga" and "samadhana" (contact, dialogue, coordination, cooperation and resolution). Ministers have been told to be disciplined and have "time sense," a positive attitude and transparency.

"Hard work and homework go together too. They must not be office-bound, but maintain contact with the people, and be accessible, apart from regularly visiting the party office and constantly communicating with the party cadre on issues related to development and meeting the expectations of workers," he said.
