Medical assistance for devotees

Thiruvananthapuram: The district unit of Shiv Sena has arranged free medical camps and ambulance service at various locations in the city to assist the devotees participating in the Attukal Pongala on Monday. A mobile hospital equipped with oxygen will be pressed into service. Volunteers will be deployed throughout the city to assist devotees. The public have been directed to contact telephone numbers 2460100, 2465758 or 2467206 for ambulance service. The district committee of the Bharatiya Kamgar Sena (BKS) has announced that it would provide free transport and supply of snacks and drinking water to devotees. Autorickshaws, taxis and tempo mini-vans will operate from 40 locations in the city and 90 centres in the rural areas, a BKS press note issued here said. — Staff Reporter

Pongala for setting up High Court bench

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Powrasamithi Co-ordination Committee will offer Pongala in 101 pots to expedite the decision of setting up a High Court bench in the capital city. — Staff Reporter

Man found dead

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kumar, 40, a native of Thodupuzha, was found dead at a lodge in Kovalam this afternoon. He is suspected to have consumed poison. The body has been shifted to the Medical College Hospital mortuary. — Staff Reporter

Seminar in Hindi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A technical seminar in Hindi organised jointly by the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre and VSSC was held at Valiamala on Friday. Arvind K. Avasthi, Principal, AG (Audit), Kerala inaugurated the seminar. — Staff Reporter
