BANGALORE: A sports utility vehicle hit a motorcycle killing a Toyota Kirloskar employee and injuring his friend near Machohalli Gate in Nelamangala police station limits on Sunday. The police identified the victim as Karthik (24), a resident of Nagarabhavi. He was on his way to the city from Magadi with his friend, Satish when the driver of the sports utility vehicle, which was on its way to Magadi, lost control over the vehicle following a tyre burst and hit the motorcycle. The driver of the sports utility vehicle fled the spot. A seriously injured Karthik was taken to National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, where he died. Satish is in Victoria Hospital, the police said.
Man killed, woman hurt
A car hit a moped killing a 45-year-old person and injuring his wife near an overbridge in Dobbaspet of Bangalore Rural district on Saturday. The police gave the name of the victim as Ramachandrappa. According to the police, Ramachandrappa and his wife, Nagaratna (40), were returning home, when the car hit the moped. As a result, Ramachandrappa and Nagaratna fell off the overbridge. Ramachandrappa died on the spot. His wife is in hospital.
