NEW DELHI: The mother and daughter duo who were found murdered in their Siddhartha Enclave house on Saturday were planning to get an electronic alarm system installed in their house for use in case of any eventuality. Their next-door neighbour, D.N. Rakhra, said both Swarna Mahajan and her daughter Anuratha were friendly to him and had helped his family on several occasions. "They had recently revealed they wanted to get an alarm bell installed connecting our houses," said the retired bank official. As news of their murder spread, Ms. Mahajan's relatives living in different parts of the Capital rushed to Siddhartha Enclave. "I came to know about it in the afternoon. We (the relatives) have requested the police to wait for the post-mortem till Ms. Mahajan's son Sanjeev and his wife arrive here on Monday," said a relative Manisha, adding that at no point the victims had talked to her about any threat to their lives or animosity with anyone. "They were very friendly," said another relative. A forensic examination team on Sunday lifted fingerprints from the spot and collected other pieces of evidence to get a clue to the identity of those involved. It is learnt that the police are questioning the domestic help, Geeta, to find out who used to meet the victims regularly. The area security guards are also being questioned in this connection. Besides, the police are also checking the telephone and mobile records of the deceased to get a clue to the case. The police are trying to trace the vehicle which had come to pick up Ms. Anuratha on Saturday evening and also the one which dropped her home. "We are working on some leads," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) Anil Shukla.
