Handicrafts `utsav' on till March 20

ATTRACTIVE SPREAD: Products displayed at the crafts fair in Chennai.

CHENNAI: The All India Crafts Fair is organising a special handicrafts `utsav' at Sri Sankara Hall till March 20. Exclusive traditional and contemporary handicrafts from all over the country are exhibited in 75 stalls.

The displays include a heritage collection of Rudrakshas, jewellery in white and black metal, traditional brass items, wooden furniture from Kashmir, bangles from Jaipur, Pattachitra and palm leaf engravings from Orissa, stone paintings, `etikoppa' puppets and toran, gold-plated puja items, terracotta from Bengal, Vinayaka idols in various materials including `navadhanyam,' crockery items, garments and home furnishings.

There is a special discount of 10 per cent on the handicraft items and a 20 per cent on handlooms. The event is open to the public between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. on all days including Sundays and public holidays.
