Power shutdown today

Power supply to the areas of Narasimha Nagar, Satyasai Nagar, Vidyut Nagar, Abid Nagar, Shantipuram, NGOs' Colony, Akkayyapalem, MTC Palem, Thatichetlapalem, Kailasapuram, Sanjivayya Colony, Balayya Sastry Layout and Green Park Colony will be suspended from 5 a.m. to noon on Tuesday to take up maintenance work on the Golden Jubilee Hospital sub-station, according to a APEPDCL press release on Monday.

Trains upgraded

The Howrah-Tiruchirapalli-Howrah bi-weekly express (No. 6803/04) trains will be upgraded as super-fast express trains and will be renumbered as 2663/64 with effect from March 24 and 26 from Tiruchirapalli and Howrah respectively. Superfast charges will be collected from the passengers (also from those who have booked their tickets earlier) travelling in these trains from these dates, according to a East Coast Railway press release from Bhubaneswar.

Ropeway closed

Commercial operation of the Kailasagiri ropeway will be closed for a week from Tuesday to carry out maintenance work, according to a press release from the company managing the ropeway.
