Digital archiving of library completed

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The digital archiving of the State Central Library here has been completed and three lakh pages of 700 rare English and Malayalam books have been digitised.

The former librarian of Mahatma Gandhi University K. Ravindran, member of the team that completed the project, told reporters here on Tuesday that the digitised wing would be opened to the public on Wednesday. The project was designed by the Centre for Informatics Research and Development and executed by Cenik Tense using the software Nitya.

The digitised version has been prepared without marring the originality of the printed texts, Mr. Ravindran said.
