CHENNAI: Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema and dry weather prevailed over Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala and Lakshadweep. Watrap (Virudhunagar dt.) recorded heavy rainfall of 7 cm.

The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are: Ayikudi (Tirunelveli dt.), Bhavani (Erode dt.), Peraiyur and Sholavandan (both Madurai dt.) 6 each, Madurai Airport and Tiruppuvanam (Sivagangai dt.) 5 each, Dharmapuri, Mangalapuram and Rasipuram (both Namakkal dt.), Omalur (Salem dt.), Karur and Madurai 4 each, Sivagangai (Tirunelveli dt.), Mulanur (Erode dt.), Vadipatti (Madurai dt.), Sattur and Srivilliputtur (both Virudhunagar dt.) 3 each.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andhra Pradesh.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over Kerala and interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
