Agriculture fair from today

PATHANAMTHITTA: The Omalloor Vayal Vanibhom, a rustic agriculture fair, will be held at Omalloor, near here, from March 15 to 19.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Omalloor grama panchayat vice-president K.P. Gopalakrishnan Nair and member Roy Mannil said that the traditional cattle market and agriculture fair would be the main attraction of the annual fair.

District Collector A.J. Rajan will inaugurate a seminar on agriculture as part of the annual fair on Wednesday. Panchayat president K.G. Anitha will preside over the inaugural function. An animal husbandry seminar will be held in the afternoon.

Water Resources Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan will inaugurate a cultural meet to be held later. K.K. Nair, MLA, will deliver the keynote address and the grama panchayat president will preside over the meet.

Pathanamthitta municipal chairperson Amrutham Gokulan and district panchayat member Omalloor Sankaran will address the meeting.

District panchayat president S. Santhakumari will inaugurate the valedictory meet on March 19 afternoon.
