KGOA annual conference

ALAPPUZHA: The annual conference of Kerala Gazetted Officers' Association Alappuzha area committee was held at Alappuzha Raiban Auditorium on Tuesday. The meeting opined that the State Government had subverted the salary revision of its employees and teachers and asked the Government employees to protest against it. The meeting also elected the new office-bearers of the area committee. P.S. Sivaprasad is the new president and Jeffry M. Rozario is the new secretary. - Staff Reporter

Technical symposium

KOLLAM: The Computer Science and Engineering Department of the Travancore College of Engineering at Oyoor, near here, will organise a national-level technical symposium on Wednesday. The symposium to be held at the college hall will be inaugurated by the Deliver Centre Head, TCS, Technopark, Thiruvananthapuram. Group project manager, Infosys, Technopark, Karthik Swaminathan will address the gathering.

ITI arts festival

KOLLAM: The district-level arts festival of the Industrial Training Institutes will be held at Jawahar Bal Bhavan here on March 16 and 17. The festival will be inaugurated by Principal, MMNSS College, Kottiyam, Kumari K. Prema. Deputy Director, training, D. Management club

KOLLAM: Labour Minister Babu Divakaran will inaugurate the management club of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts in India (ICFAI) National College at Kollam on Thursday. He will also release the college newsletter on the occasion. The function will be presided over by G.C. Pillai, Principal of the college. — Staff Reporter

Council demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Medical College should be upgraded to the status of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the Thiruvananthapuram Development Council has said. A grouping of 30 organisations functioning for the development of the capital said in a statement here on Friday that the Centre had sanctioned an institute of AIIMS status for the State and it should be given to the Government Medical College here. - Staff Reporter
