Special rebate for khadi

KOCHI : A special Government rebate has been offered for khadi clothes purchased from the Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan, Pallimukku, till March 25. There will be 30 per cent rebate for muslin and cotton khadi, readymades and spun/raw silk products and 20 per cent for reed silk, poly and woollen clothes.

Divisional dak adalat

KOCHI: The divisional dak adalat of the Ernakulam Postal Division will be held at 11 a.m. on March 23 at the office of the senior superintendent of post offices, Ernakulam division. Cases already taken up at previous adalats will not be entertained. Complaints must be sent to Thankachen George, Inspector, Posts (Public Grievances), Ernakulam Division, before March 20.

Fishermen's dharna today

KOCHI : Fishermen and their families will undertake a mass dharna on Wednesday in front of the Sub-Collector's Office, Fort Kochi. The dharna is organised under the banner of Matsya Thozhilali Union (CITU). Their demands include enforcement of the ban on monsoon trawling, writing off debts of fishermen and prevention of encroachment into the backwaters and the sea.
