Man kidnapped, relieved of cash

Miscreants withdraw Rs. 15,000 using his ATM card; leave him near Huliyurdurga

BANGALORE: Four persons allegedly kidnapped a receptionist working in the Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, withdrew Rs. 15,000 using his ATM card, and left him near Huliyurdurga on Magadi Road on Monday night.

According to police, Raj Kumar, a resident of Vidyanagar Layout in Rajgopal Nagar, was heading home after work when the four persons bundled him into their vehicle around 11 p.m.

They took him to the ATM counter of Corporation Bank near Bidadi where the miscreants withdrew the cash.

The miscreants left Raj Kumar at Huliyurdurga after paying him Rs. 150.

The Nandini Layout police have registered a case.

Gagged

A four-member gang gagged Shantaraj (60), an employee at a readymade garment shop at Gandhinagar, and relieved him of his gold ring, mobile phone, and Rs. 2,000 in cash in Kasturba Nagar on Mysore Road on Monday night.

According to the police, Shantaraj alighted from a bus and was walking to his relative's house in Kasturba Nagar. The four persons gagged him and relieved him of his gold ring, mobile phone and cash before leaving the place.

Software engineer robbed

Three persons waylaid a software engineer and relieved him of his gold chain, mobile phone and Rs. 1,000 in cash in Nijaguna Layout in Vivek Nagar police station limits on Monday night.

According to police, Shreyas, a resident of Nijaguna Layout, alighted from a bus and was walking to his house when the three persons threatened him with a knife near Nijaguna Seva Mandira and took away his gold chain, mobile phone and the cash.

Burgled

The house of an electronic goods seller was burgled and articles and cash worth Rs. 1 lakh were taken away.

The incident took place in the J.C. Nagar police station limits on Monday night.

According to the police, Syed Hussain, the owner of the house, and his family members were sleeping in the second floor of the house.

The miscreants gained entry into the first floor of the building and took away gold and silver ornaments and cash.

Accident

A cyclist was killed on the spot in an accident involving a lorry near a flyover in K.R. Puram on Monday night. The police identified the victim as Maranna (50) of Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh.

A pedestrian died when a lorry hit him near Madiwala police station on Monday night.

The police are yet to identify the victim.
