Undertrial creates flutter on court complex

Coimbatore: An undertrial in attempt to murder and robbery case, Chinnasamy (29) of Koilpalayam near Thondamuthur, created a flutter on the court complex on Tuesday evening by inflicting injuries on his head with a handcuff.

According to the police, the undertrial was produced before the magistrate for remand extension.

When he was being brought back to the police vehicle, he objected to the use of handcuff for locking him and another prisoner.

Picking up a quarrel with the police, Chinnasamy started banging the handcuff on his head resulting in injuries.

He was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for treatment as outpatient and then lodged at the Central Prison.
