Special trains to Dadar to clear rush

Thiruvananthapuram: Southern Railway will run special trains between Dadar and Ernakulam and Dadar and Mangalore to clear the rush of passengers during April, May and June.

According to the Railways, the 165 Dadar-Ernakulam Junction Weekly Special would leave Dadar at 12.45 noon on Saturdays to reach Ernakulam Junction at 4.45 p.m. the next day. The first service of the special train from Dadar will commence on April 1 and the last service from Dadar on July 1.

In the return direction, the 166 Ernakulam Junction-Dadar Weekly Special will depart from Ernakulam Junction at 11.45 p.m. on Sundays to reach Dadar at 3.45 a.m. on Tuesday. The first service from Ernakulam will be on April 2 and the last service on July 2.

The 165 and 166 specials will have two 3-Tier AC, 10 Sleeper Class, Two Second Class and Two Luggage-cum-Brake Vans. Both the trains will have stoppages at Aluva, Thrissur, Shornur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikode, Quilandy, Vadakara, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod in the State.

The 167 Dadar-Mangalore Special would leave Dadar at 12.45 noon on Wednesdays to reach Mangalore at 6.55 a.m. the next day. The first service of the special train will commence from Dadar on April 5 and the last service on June 28.

The 168 Mangalore-Dadar Special, will leave Mangalore at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday to reach Dadar at 3.45 a.m. the next day. The first service from Mangalore will begin on April 6 and the last service will be on June 29. The 167 and 168 specials will have two 3-Tier AC, 10 Sleeper Class, Two Second Class and Two luggage-cum-Brake Vans.
