Five arrested in two murder cases

NEW DELHI: Five persons allegedly involved in killing and robbing two women in separate incidents reported from Kalkaji in South Delhi have been arrested by the South Delhi police.

While investigating the murder of Gulshan Kapoor, a 55-year-old woman who was found dead in her G-Block house in Kalkaji on March 7, the police had sent a team to Gonda in Uttar Pradesh where the main suspects were supposed to be hiding.

On Monday, the team managed to arrest all the five suspects at Gonda bus stand when they were trying to board a bus to cross over to Nepal.

Those arrested have been identified as Rajesh, Suresh, Ram Babu, Ram Sanjiwan and Hasanoo.

At their instance, the police recovered Rs. 2,670 in cash, gold bangles and chain, which Ms. Kapoor was wearing on the day she was killed, ownership papers of the jhuggi in which another woman was found killed in January and a bearer cheque for Rs. 5,000 of Punjab National Bank issued by the husband of the deceased in her name.
