CHENNAI:
Lifeline Multispeciality Hospitals of Perungudi has taken over 15 clinics in 13 places in the State in a bid to provide standardised medical treatment to people in these areas.
The hospital has tied up with S & V Loga Multispeciality hospital of Karur. The tie up will include setting up pharmacy, laboratory and X-Ray and ECG equipment in these centres and providing telemedicine capabilities. The programme would be ready by two months.
The aim is to ensure that medical treatment available in Chennai is accessible to people living in these areas, Selva M. Annamalai, director of Lifeline Hospitals said. Loga hospital will act as the hub for clinics in the surrounding areas of Periyar Nagar, Perundurai, Pallipalayam, Namakkal, Tiruchengode, Gobichettipalayam, Erode, Rasipuram, Satyamangalam, Bhavani, Kangeyam, Dharapuram and Karur.
Besides diagnostic facilities, the clinics will have consultants. Fees would be based on the prevalent rates in the areas. If in case, any specialised treatment is not available in Loga Hospitals, the patient then would be referred to Chennai.
On the acquisition, J.S. Rajkumar, chairman of Lifeline Group said: It is a "win-win" situation for doctors, patients and the hospital.
