Anti-liquor march concludes today

Thiruvananthapuram: The Madya Virudha Kerala Yatra, which was taken out from Kasaragod by Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council Temperance Commission on February 17 demanding revocation of liquor policy, among other things, will conclude with a public function here on Friday.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Commission chairman Bishop Joshua Mar Ignathios said Bishop Vincent Samuel would preside over the function to be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium.

The yatra had covered all the districts and receptions were accorded to it at 800 places.

At the valedictory meeting, the Bishop Makeel Foundation Award for excellence in social work would be presented to secretary of the Commission Prasad Kuruvila.
