Short poems by children

Kunhunni's poems, most dear to children, are a source of inspiration for the budding poets. Hence, the students of Muchukunnu U.P. School found the poet the apt person to write a forward for their collection of poems, `Kutti Kavithakal.' They recently visited the poet's house in Valappad in Thrissur district for an informal release of the book. Though Kunhunni Master was very ill, he forgot it to interact with the children. The book, brought out by the Readers Club of the school, has 17 poems by the students. The poems are very short and depict the eagerness of the children to enter into a dialogue with the creatures around them. The illustrations for the poems are also done by the students.

Assistant Educational Officer, Meladi, T. Valsalan will inaugurate the function to kick off the marketing of the book at the school on Friday.
