Chevrolet Aveo hits the market

Available in 1.4 and 1.6 engine options

    MUMBAI: General Motors (India) (GMI) on Thursday officially launched the Chevrolet Aveo in India. The car is the first of three new Chevrolet products that are debuting in the first six months of 2006. It will be followed by the Aveo U-VA and Optra SRV as part of the largest expansion of GM India's vehicle line-up in the company's history.

    "The Chevrolet Aveo is a global product that incorporates the latest technology and meets the highest standards of quality,'' said Rajeev Chaba, President and Managing Director, GM India.

    The Aveo will be available in both 1.4 and 1.6 engine options. The entry-level 1.4E is priced at Rs. 5.55 lakh (ex-showroom Thane), the 1.4L at Rs. 5.74 lakh, the 1.4 LS at Rs. 6.14 lakh and the 1.6 LT at Rs 6.85 lakh.

    The Aveo will be launched nationwide later this month.
