Alliott Group's `match-making' exercise for European clients

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Alliott Group, a global network of independent consultants, accountants and lawyers, has embarked on an exercise of "match-making" for its clients in Europe, and especially in Belgium, operating in various manufacturing and service sectors.

Alliott, which has four associates in India, including the firm S. Viswanathan, Chartered Accountants, is focusing in particular on Indian businesses in sectors like manufacturing, engineering, retailing, hotels and hospitality, agriculture, healthcare, advertising, printing and publishing, films and media and labour organisations.

Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Jean Marie Leclercq, Senior Partner, and Jean Golenvaux, Partner, of Tax Consult SA, Belgium, which is a long-standing member of Alliott Group, said partnerships for their clients in Europe could include cross-border investment (in either direction) besides back office processing and other services.

Mr. Leclercq said their European clients were mainly SMEs (small and medium enterprises) understood not in the legal sense of the term in Europe.

They were essentially closely held companies or family-owned or family-managed businesses, he said.
