United India Insurance's micro insurance campaign

CHENNAI: United India Insurance has launched its campaign in the emerging business segment of Micro insurance. The company, having a significant presence in rural insurance, has received applications from about 1,000 micro finance institutions and self help groups and NGOs for becoming agents for distribution of micro insurance products. The company has also tied up with commercial banks and these channels will provide access to micro credit across the country.
