Isolated rain likely in T.N.

CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Ryalaseema. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and dry weather prevailed over Telangana, Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are:- Salur (Vizianagaram dt.) 5, Tenkasi and Ayikudi 4 each, Tekkali (Srikakulam dt.) 3, Kaikalur (Krishna dt) 2 and Senkottai, Theni and Gannavaram 1 each.

On Wednesday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over south Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over north interior Tamil Nadu, fell appreciably at one or two places over Kerala, fell at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region.

They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over north interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Telangana, below normal at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, rest north interior Karnataka, rest Rayalaseema, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, appreciably above normal at one or two places over north coastal Tamil Nadu, above normal at one or two places over rest coastal Tamil Nadu, rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, Kerala. Kannur, Kottayam and Punalur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Islolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Kerala and south interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over Telangana, Lakshadweep, coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No large change.
