TIRUPATI: Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests A.V. Joseph inspected the work on construction of an aviary and a `langur' enclosure at the Sri Venkateswara Zoological Park here on Thursday. A modern aviary is being built at the zoo, which will have enclosures for water birds and emu birds. Another one for housing `Hanuman langur' is also under construction. The official, who was accompanied by Conservator of Forests, Tirupati Wildlife Management circle, M. Bulliah, and zoo curator B. Sundar among others, learnt the status of various projects and instructed the contractor and workers to adhere to quality norms laid down by the department.
Water position
Mr. Joseph also enquired about the water position in the complex and directed the officials to augment supply to the animal enclosures in view of the ensuing summer. He also inspected the blacktop road-laying work in progress. The road is expected to be used for running a toy train to ferry visitors to various enclosures situated deeper in the sprawling premises. Assistant curator A. Parthasarathy explained the various programmes on the anvil to the top official.
