HYDERABAD: Bowing to the demand of almost all political parties, the State Government on Thursday kept in abeyance GO 72 issued on March 4, which seeks to give effect to the recommendations of J.M. Girglani Commission. An order to this effect was issued by Chief Secretary T.K. Dewan, bringing curtains down on the objections raised by all parties, including some Congress leaders, that the GO had violated the spirit of the Presidential Order six-point formula for setting right regional imbalances. At an all-party meeting convened on March 13, the entire Opposition demanded scrapping of the GO as it had ignored the significant recommendations of the Girglani commission.
