Homage paid to Devarajan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: People from all walks of life paid their last respects to music director G. Devarajan, whose mortal remains were brought here on Thursday morning and placed at VJT Hall for the public to pay homage. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and ministerial colleagues K.C. Venugopal, Babu Divakaran and Sujanapal were among those who paid homage to the master of melodies.

The special aircraft bearing the body reached here at 11.30 a.m. Devarajan's widow Leelamony, daughter Sharmila, son Rajananda, and MLA Pratapavarma Thampan accompanied the body. The body would be cremated with police honours at Devarajan's birthplace, Paravoor, at 10 a.m. on Friday.
