MYSORE: The National Commission for Religious and Linguistic Minorities in collaboration with the Central Institute of Indian Languagues (CIIL) is organising a workshop on linguistic minorities in India on March 27, according to a release. The workshop will be held on CIIL premises here and the objective is to present the status of linguistic minorities in the country and policies of the Central and the State Governments towards them. The workshop will also discuss problems of linguistic minorities, ethnic movements and migration. It will also explore the relationship between language and socio-economic backwardness. Among those who will participate in the workshop include Ranganath Misra, former Chief Justice of India and the Chairman of the commission. Members from the Tulu, Konkani and Kodava Sahitya Academies have been invited. The public can also take part in the workshop. Those interested may contact B.
