SHIMOGA: Deputy Commissioner T.K. Anil Kumar said here on Thursday that voluntary organisations should join hands to serve the aged who are in need of healthcare. Inaugurating a free health check-up camp organised at the Jeevana Sanje Vruddhashrama by the Jnaneshwari Seva Trust and the Malnad Cancer Hospital and Institute of Oncology, he promised help to the vruddhashrama, which, he said, has been serving the cause of the aged for the last several years. He asked the people in and around the vruddhashrama to make use of the camp as it had not been organised exclusively for its members. President of the trust Nagesh Raikar presided over the function. Director of the Malnad Cancer Hospital and Institute of Oncology Mallesh Hullamani was present.
