Research scholars bag Young Scientist Award

Two research scholars of the city-based Madras School of Economics have been chosen for the Young Scientist Award for 2006 instituted as part of the IWMI (International Water Management Institute) - Tata Water Policy Program.
The recipients, Sacchidananda Mukherjee and Prakash Nelliyat, were chosen for their research paper on groundwater pollution and emerging environmental challenges of industrial effluent irrigation in Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district.
The award, carrying a citation and a cash prize of Rs.25,000, was presented at the meet of the programme's annual partners at Anand, Gujarat, last week.
