Bangalore: Chairperson of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw on Thursday suggested to the Government to float a special purpose vehicle (SPV) for infrastructure development of Bangalore, which is bursting at its seams. Ms. Mazumdar-Shaw, who called on Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy at the Vidhana Soudha, is said to have raised issues pertaining to road and power infrastructure and hoped that traffic congestion in the city will be eased through various means. The Chief Minister is said to have assured her that the Government is committed to completing infrastructure projects well ahead of schedule. PTI reports: "I am convinced that he is very serious on infrastructure development in Bangalore," Ms. Mazumdar-Shaw told presspersons after her discussions with the Chief Minister which she described as "useful and productive." Ms. Mazumdar-Shaw last week said that the future expansion of her company would not happen in Karnataka as the Government was not supporting the industry. She said on Thursday that the meeting was to get the city right back on track. A roadmap was given to the Chief Minister on how certain solutions could be found to overcome infrastructure woes in Bangalore, she said.
